Resources for Teachers

If you’re a geography or social science teacher, this resource makes our Sustainable Seas research easily accessible for learning about our marine environment.

What does this resource package include?

It includes teaching sequences and student resources based on Sustainable Seas research.

Teachers can pick and choose from the package to develop a programme about the marine environment that is relevant to their ākonga.

Each sequence contains links to the New Zealand curriculum refresh, highlighting the Understand-Know-Do framework, and geography Big Ideas and Significant Learning. The package offers two assessments linked to refreshed geography Level 1 achievement standards. Geographic and social science skills, including numeracy and literacy, are also covered throughout.

You can also read about Marlborough Girls' College's journey to developing and teaching ecosystem-based management courses for junior and senior levels. Download resource here.
